Our premium exterior systems carry a 15-year performance warranty when applied by certified professionals. Interior luxury finishes maintain integrity for up to 20 years with proper maintenance.
Sustainability is integrated into our R&D. We prioritize low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) formulations, ensuring superior air quality and minimal environmental impact. Our manufacturing facility uses solar power and recycles 90% of process water.
Using high-precision spectrophotometers, we can replicate any architectural sample with 99.9% accuracy using our advanced pigment technology. Bring us a fabric swatch, photo, or paint chip and we'll match it.
Proper surface preparation is critical for paint longevity. We recommend cleaning surfaces thoroughly, repairing cracks and holes, applying our NIM Primer Sealer, and ensuring the surface is completely dry before painting.
Measure the length and height of each wall, multiply to get square meters, subtract doors and windows, then divide by the coverage rate of your chosen product (listed on each product page). Use our Paint Calculator tool for an instant estimate.

Yes — our flagship dealers offer computerized color matching using spectrophotometer technology. We can match any color from any brand, fabric, or reference material with 99.9% accuracy.
Matte offers a non-reflective, velvety finish ideal for hiding imperfections. Silk has a soft sheen and is washable — perfect for living areas. Gloss provides a high-shine, durable finish suitable for trim, kitchens, and industrial applications.
Painting costs depend on wall area, product choice, and whether labour is included. Prices vary by product line and pack size, so we recommend getting a free quotation from our technical team or an authorized dealer. Contact us or your nearest dealer for a quotation, or use the Paint Calculator to estimate the litres you'll need.
Emulsion is a water-based paint for walls and ceilings, offering a breathable matte or silk finish. Gloss is a harder, high-shine enamel suited to woodwork, metal, and high-traffic areas that need frequent wiping. For most Ugandan homes, NIM Emulsion Matt or Vinyl Silk on walls with a gloss on doors and frames is the standard combination.
Yes, but the paint must be fully dry before rain hits. Exterior painting is best scheduled in dry spells, and most NIM paints need 4–6 hours of dry weather between coats. Interior painting can continue throughout the rains. Check the weather before starting exterior work and avoid painting damp walls.
Mould usually appears on damp, poorly ventilated walls. Prevent it by fixing leaks, improving ventilation, and using a mould-resistant paint like NIM Vinyl Silk for bathrooms and kitchens. Always prime bare or patched surfaces with NIM Primer Sealer before the topcoat, and wipe down affected areas before repainting.
Coverage depends on the product and surface. As a guide, most NIM emulsions cover roughly 10–12 m² per litre per coat on smooth, primed walls. Rough or unpainted surfaces absorb more. Divide your wall area by the coverage rate (listed on each product page) and multiply by the number of coats.
Allow 4–6 hours between coats in dry weather, and longer in humid conditions. Paint feels dry to the touch quickly, but it needs time to cure fully — avoid heavy contact for at least 24 hours after the final coat.
Yes, especially on new plaster, patched walls, or repainting over dark colours. Primer seals the surface, prevents alkali salts from bleeding through, improves adhesion, and reduces the number of topcoats needed — saving you paint and money in the long run.
NIM Paints offers 8,000+ shades. Our ten signature colours — SILVER BIRCH, SANDSTONE, MAGNOLIA, CARBON GREY, GRANITE GRAY, LIGHT MINK, MINK, OFF WHITE, SAGE GREEN, and SOFT WHITE — are pre-mixed, while every other colour in the NCS range can be tinted to order at our flagship dealers.
Yes. Our interior paints are low-VOC, lead-free, APEO-free, and formulated without formaldehyde and ammonia, making them safe for homes, schools, and hospitals. Just ensure rooms are ventilated while painting.
Textured finishes like NIM Texture Paste and NIM Marble Plaster add decorative depth to feature walls, commercial lobbies, and accent areas, while also hiding minor surface imperfections. They are applied with trowels or rollers and can be tinted to any shade.
Our premium exterior systems, such as WEATHERGUARD, carry a 15-year performance warranty when applied by certified professionals, and interior luxury finishes maintain their integrity for up to 20 years with proper maintenance and care.
For Uganda's intense UV and heavy rains, use a dedicated exterior emulsion like WEATHERGUARD by NIM Paints. It contains UV-resistant pigments that resist fading and a water-repellent formulation that lets walls breathe while keeping moisture out.
We offer direct delivery for bulk and trade orders, and our authorized dealers across Kampala, Mbarara, Mbale, Lira, and Mukono stock the full NIM range. Find your nearest stockist in the distributor network section of our contact page, or contact our sales team.
Use a roller for large flat wall areas for speed and an even finish, and a brush for corners, edges, and around doors and windows. For textured finishes, follow the application guide for the specific product. Two thin coats always beat one thick coat.
Paint covers stains but will not hold cracked or flaking plaster together. Fill cracks and holes with a suitable filler, sand smooth, and prime before painting. Textured finishes are a great option for hiding minor surface defects without extensive replastering.
